Since the last few moths, I find that I am satisfied with my life. It is not a new feeling for me, but what is new is the fact that it lasts. It is steady and peaceful. It is not going anywhere. I have come with fifteen possible reasons why this is happening.
1. I have given up changing myself: my ridiculous, funny, not at all perfect, myself. And instead, I changed the people around me. It worked! Which leads me to the second reason...

2. I hang out exclusively with people that love me very much.
3. I started writing to-do-lists, everyday agendas, diary and a blog. Just to put my thoughts together. It’s not like I do all the things I plan on doing, but at least it gives me an idea of where my life is going and I can better organize my time. It helps so much!
4. I stopped hitting the snooze button. Just do it. Just get up. Another amazing day is waiting for you.
5. I have always been an egoist, but now I don’t feel bad about it anymore. And you know what? If you can provide things you need and want for yourself first, it will make you a better person. An altruist. So many people play the polite card, but I think that maybe it is time to stop with this bullshit.
6. I ride my bike to school. This has been so far the second best investment since I moved to France, the first being...
7. The sex toys. I am not saying that working out your orgasms (ladies) is an immediate gateway to happiness, but considering the sky-high number of women having problem with achieving a pleasure during sex (I was one of them), I think it is a very, very good idea to try this one. Just sayin‘..
8. I talk to my mum every other day. It brightens my day, no irony here.
9. I take my time. It is always better to do something late than to never do it, and it is always better to be the one who comes late than the one who is waiting.
10. If I need some time alone, I stay at home and enjoy myself.
11. Everybody I meet is better at something than I am. I find it a cool game, discovering what it can be. (Yeah okay, sometimes I lose.)
12. If i am feeling shitty, I get some exercise. Okay, I know I should get some exercise. I had to change that sentence to not feel like a hypocryte.
13. I threw away all my underwear I didn’t like.
14. I do stuff: it doesn’t matter what it is, it doesn’t even matter if I am good at it or not, if it brings me joy, if it makes me stronger or more clever, I do it. For those who are interested, voilà some examples:
I do theatre because it is a form of therapy and self-expression.
I paint my shirts because it is fun and it makes me feel original.
I play ukulele and bongos because music gives me energy.
I don’t eat meat because I think slaughterhouses are wrong.
I do french box because I want to spend more of my free time with Tim.
I do yoga because I feel it can help me cure my impatience, plus it is a good workout.
I learn languages because it allows me to talk to so many more people in their native language, in the language of their heart.
I live in another country so that I can better appreciate my own roots.
I read 20 pages a day because it makes me feel proud of myself.
I cook because I find it an important survival skill.

15. I keep it real. Yeah, okay, all of us have day-dreams, but we need to accept the fact that nothing is ideal, and nothing is going to happen exactly like we picture it. Even our friends lie, kittens get eaten in Kebab shops and people don’t really earn they living by writing blogs. I am not saying not to have expectations. Those are good. It is our fantasies and unreasonable hopes that always screw it up for us at the end.
