The SARCASTIC one
I mean, okay. Of course there are people around me in Montpelier that like to use sarcasm every once in a while, but I am not talking about that. I am talking about like 200 percent more of it. Why? Because for it to work you need to come from a much less cheerful place than a 300-days-of-sun-a-year Montpelier. And with a recent history of communism, late start, bad economy, tiny size that calls for meaningless, and the inborn quality of being a natural hater, Slovakia is an ideal country to give birth to the highest forms of irony.
So here, I hope you get the idea. Sadly, if asking me why I miss these kind of people, I have to confess, that I don’t know. I grew up with them! Also, I find them really funny.

The one that never quite understands the AMOUNT OF CONSUMED ALCOHOL/ WEIGHT OF HIS BODY equation
As I have already mentioned in the previous article, Slovak people belong to the reserved part of the population. We don’t like to show our emotions right away (if ever) for God knows why, but with the right percentage of alcohol, everything is possible. It’s a common quality among Slovaks, to drink, to drink, and to drink... Until you have no idea where or who the fuck are you. And that’s where the fun begins! Don’t forget your camera!

The hater
The hater basically means very, very pessimistic person that´s trying to sound funny when he or she is complaining. And that’s what we love doing in Slovakia!
He hates the gypsies and cannot deal with the fact that he pays for them by paying his own taxes, he doesn’t trust politicians (not even the one he voted for), and if somebody in his surroundings starts earning more money than him, that person just committed an unforgivable crime.
It’s in our veins, this constant discontent with everything, and we won’t miss a chance to say a bad word about something, about anything. It’s a way of having fun while drinking a beer in a pub with friends, just like you would have fun going dancing salsa in Colombia. It’s a cultural thing!

Yeah, so these are the three types of people I miss from my home country, hope you enjoyed my article!
Anyway, I noticed that I am slightly defaming Slovakia here (hey, I am a real Slovak!) so I would just like to add that Slovakia is a beautiful country with beautiful people in it, honest and modest, and welcoming. All of us kind of know this and apreciate it, but it’s mostly when we travel away from our home, that we realize how cool everything is back there. :)

If you have some stories involving Slovakia/ Slovak people, I would love to read about them in the comment section!
